What does fogging machine hire normally include?
At the low end of the market, hire means a box arriving on a pallet with a printed sheet. No training, no chemical validation, no safe re-entry calculation and nobody to call at 6am when a ward closes. That is fine for a garden shed. It is not fine for a hospital wing, a food line or a fleet of ambulances.

Is it cheaper to hire a fogging machine or lease one?
Short-term hire looks cheap until you count the frequency. If you fog twice a year, hire. If you fog weekly, monthly or every time a room turns over, hire charges and delivery fees overtake a lease very quickly — and you still have no machine on site the day something goes wrong.
Run the arithmetic on cost per treated room. A lease from £450–£550 per month + VAT, against a conservative 60 rooms a month, is a per-room cost in single figures once chemical is counted. An attended call-out is from £495–£1,095 + VAT every single time.
How quickly can we treat a room once the machine is on site?
With a machine already on site and trained staff on the existing rota, a response starts in about five minutes. An external emergency call-out realistically means 6 to 24 hours between reporting, travel, site access and set-up — and on a vessel away from port, 24 to 120 hours.
The cycle itself is measured in minutes, not hours, which is why one machine comfortably treats up to five rooms per hour depending on their size.
How do you tell a proper supplier from a cowboy?
The fogging market filled up fast in 2020 and never fully cleared out. A lot of what is offered as hire today is a generic garden sprayer and a drum of unlabelled chemical. Ask direct questions and the difference shows up immediately.

Registered organisations only: medical centres and hospitals, food factories, transport operators, universities and schools, care homes, housing providers, laboratories, marine operators and similar. We do not lease to individuals.
